Question ID: 395855
What is the name of the opera song and who is the singer you hear
when you go to www.bellacucina.com??? Is it on an album? (Just go to
the website and wait
about 5 seconds, then the song is played. I e-mailed the Bella Cucina
people, but received no answer).

This is an excerpt of "Tra voi, belle, brune e bionde," from Giacomo
Puccini's opera "Manon Lescaut."

Here is an MP3 of the entire aria:

Sergio Blázquez,Tenor

(The portion used on the Bella Cucina website starts about 42 seconds
into the audio file linked above.)

If you have Quicktime (version 4 or above), you can hear an excerpt of
"Tra voi, belle" here:

Cantolopera: Arias
http://www.cantolopera.com/eng/prodotti/ariaDetail.t?ID_=11

Here are two CDs that feature this aria:

Amazon.com: Manon Lescaut (Highlights)
http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/B00004U2KQ

Amazon.com: Essential Puccini
http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/B000026ESE

My Google search strategy:

Google Web Search: "tra voi belle"

I hope this is helpful! If I have misidentified the aria, or if you
need anything more, please request clarification; I'll be glad to
offer further assistance before you rate my answer.

Best regards,
pinkfreud

Do you happen to know which of the 2 CDs you recommended features the
version which plays the actual opera recorded on stage rather than
what sounds like the "studio recorded" version?
THANKS SO MUCH

I believe both the CDs mentioned in my answer are 'studio' recordings
rather than 'live' recordings. If you are looking for a performance of
Puccini's "Manon Lescaut" that was recorded live on stage, this CD
would be a better choice. It was recorded live in June 1998 at the
Teatro alla Scala, Milan:
