Question ID: 39607
I am trying to label a parasitic nematode for use in an experiment
tracking
their migration around the body using CAT scans. I need to know of a
suitable method for labeling?? I have tried incubating in contrast
media, but they rapidly loose the signal upon injection. Would it be
possible to label dircetly
with Iodine? I have a protocol for this, but don't know if Iodine is
the best substance to use as it was used in a radiolabelling
experiment which is not related to the work I am doing, but I also
wondered is it might be possible to radio label the worms and use
nuclear medicine type imaging techniques?? If this is possible how
would I go about it and what is the resolution likely to be in a
mouse???

Isn't iodine toxic to nematodes?
