Paxistima canbyi (pachsistima, if you will) has the common name "rat
stripper". Wife has been looking, for years, to find the origin for
the name. It is a low-growing evergreen plant with no obvious
relation to a rat or stripping. Google is dry hole for information.
Does anyone know how or where the common name arose?
