Dear mojito74,

An increase in the demand for ostrich meat means a rise in the number
of consumers who purchase ostrich meat. An increase in the quantity
demanded, on the other hand, means a rise in the average amount of
ostrich meat that each customer purchases.

The marketing strategies to achieve each of these ends are different,
since the former case requires that you attract new customers, while
the latter entails communicating with current customers. Both kinds of
increase, however, result in greater volume for the ostrich-meat
market as a whole. For optimal effect, you will want to employ both
kinds of marketing strategy.

If you find my answer to be incomplete or inaccurate in any way,
please post a clarification request so that I have a chance to meet
your needs before you assign a rating.

leapinglizard

Well, those are the other parts of the question, which you've named
"demand for ostrich 1" and "demand for ostrich 3". I believe I've
fully addressed "demand for ostrich 2" above. Frankly, I don't see
what more there is to say about the difference between "demand" and
"quantity demanded". Do you agree that my explanation is clear? I
might tackle your two other questions later if I have the time, but
I'm not making any promises. Please let me know if you're dissatisfied
with my answer to the present question.
