I need to have a quick and easy solution for taking photos of objects
that are 20mm x 100mm in size. The camera is to be desk mounted and
you should have the ability to place an object (e.g. a photo or
magazine cut-out) under it. Press a button on the camera or software
and transfer the captured image to your windows XP pc screen for
saving as a jpeg or bmp. The resolution needs to be a minimum of 800 x
600 pixels. The idea is that when you have multiple cuttings from
photo's or objects (no more than 1mm thick) you can quickly transfer
them to pc and then take it out from under the camera and place
another object and repeat the process.

I've looked at webcams but they don't have the resolution and find it
difficult to focus at a distance of 50 to 100mm from the object being
photographed.

I understand that you could fix a camera to a stand but I don't have a
massive budget. I'm looking to spend up to 200 GBP or 500USD.

Thanks in advance
