Hello vivre
Thanks for asking an interesting question.
There are two types of cigaret machine: injection machines and rolling
machines.
1 Injection machines
The injection type makes more cigarets more quickly but even the very
best of this type will not cope with a herbal tobacco that is more
difficult to manage than "long, fine or medium cut shags".
According to Roll Your Own magazine:
"It should NOT be hunks or heavy bulk cut. It should NOT be overly
moist like most pipe tobacco. "
If you are smoking a herbal cut that you think might work in an
injection machine, they recommend the Supermatic range:
" few can rival the sheer efficiency, quality and control of cigarette
making that is indicative of the patented Supermatic line by CTC, Inc.
(Clinton Tube Company of Plattsburg, New York)."
see review of injectors, Roll Your Own Magazine (January/February
2000)

You can find these machines at:
http://stuffyourown.com/noname.html
or another supplier:

These machines may be somewhere between $35 and $55
2 Rolling Machines
These use papers, not tubes like the injection machines. They won't
mass produce cigarets but they will accommodate a much wider range of
blends. Our old friend, RYO magazine, says: "these kinds of machines
all work pretty well .... An added advantage is that you can roll
practically any type of tobacco in these, including ones that would
jam an injector every time.."

Their most up-to date survey and review of rolling machines dates from
January 2002. They name several good ones but say their favorite is
the Rizla Blue 110mm which will roll 100mm cigarets too. Read the
survey at:

You can buy the Rizla Blue for less than $10.
One supplier is at:

(Scroll down to " Rizla Roller Style Rolling Machine " and select the
right size.)
Or you could buy it from:

There is a Google directory of suppliers which could help you find
more possibilities:

One more page of this helpful magazine which might interest you
discusses how to achieve cigarets looking similar to the ones you buy
in packets:

Hope this is helpful. I enjoyed working on your question and wish you
luck in achieving good quality herbal cigarets. Please feel free to
ask for clarification.
P.S. My search strategy started with combinations of these words:
cigaret cigarette machines advice herbal rolling
Once I discovered RYO I searched their archives at:

and then typed their recommendations into Google to find suppliers |
