I once read a book around 10-15 years ago about these two little girls
who sold duck eggs or hatchlings. I also remeber they made flower
chains. They made friends with an elderly lady? I think the book was
bantam double day, yearling or ? The copy I had was purchased at
Walmart and had a pinkish cover, it was a paperback.

Wanted to add that the story took place in the country and I remember
them ordering the eggs from a newspaper of some sort. It seems like
they were anxious and went to the post office often to see if they
arrived? I think the time was horse and wagon/buggy. I think I
remember them riding a horse.
