In California in the 1982 for the Governor's Campaign
Bradley ran against Deukmejian .
1.	I need to know, if this was the first time that absentee voter
applications were sent by either party or campaign on a large scale
that were already filled in by computer and the voter just signed them
and returned the in a postage paid business reply envelope.
2.	What were the vote totals and percentages each candidate received statewide.
3.	The total number of absentee ballots cast by party and percentage
of republicans returned ballots and percentage of democrats returned.
4. What were the total number of absentee ballots cast and the
percentage of total vote cast by absentee ballot?
5.	What percentage was cast for each candidate for each ballot?
6.	In 1982, please confirm if possible, the Republican party was the
first party or major campaign nationwide to send out a pre-filled out
computerized absentee ballot request form that voters need only sign
and date, and could return in a postage reply envelope which resulted
in a response rate of over 10% (in previous years this was much
lower) thus as we understand, Bradley won the election at the polls on
election day but this unprecedented computerized application strategy
resulted in significant increase in absentee ballots being cast by
republicans thereby making Deukmejian the winner when the absentee
ballots were counted.
7. Prior to this election, what was the average percent of absentee
ballots returned by each party using the traditional non computerized
forms?
