Hi lucylooker,
Thanks a lot for the question first of all.
In general, Google needs to know about your site before it can give it
as a return on a search by a user. They need to index the site first,
which means a little program/robot (it's all software, so not a
mechanical robot ;)) goes to your site, reads it and puts it into the
Google database. Only sites that are in this index, the Google
database, can be found when searching. This can happen in several
ways.
1. If there are links to your site on other web sites, then it is
possible that this program/robot follows one of those links, finds
your site, and then indexes it.
2. You can submit your site for indexing. This might take a bit of
time though as the program/robot often has a big list of sites to
visit.
For more information on how to submit your site to Google go here:
There are also some additional infos there about why your site might
not be listed as well as some other interesting items.
If you want to submit your web site to more search engines, you can
use several search engine submission services out there. I searched
for "Search Engine Submission Free" and it turned out to be a rather
good list:
I hope this answers your question and I wish you luck on getting your
site listed quickly.
