Question ID: 396860
Create a flash animation of the web page that opens when you click on
"View Current Utilization" on the following web page:
http://net2.my-temp-www.com/swmonitorpro/SwMonInt3-1D.htm

The resulting flash animation should be 300px wide, and look like a
small Windows XP window.

The flash animation should animate smoothly to the first set of
numbers, then delay 1.5 seconds, then the second set, then a 1.5
second delay, then the third set of numbers, then a 1.5 second delay
and then repeat.

This project is to create just the animated flash as a demo for the product.

I can send you a screenshot of the Windows XP window if you are
working on a Macintosh or other operating system.

Hi timtitus!
Are you looking for a flash animation that shows exactly what the link
you provided is showing right now? That is, do you need a flash
animation that shows a table with columns "Current Percent", "Peak
Percent", etc, and the 2 rows "Tx" and "Rx" with the bars that move
and changing numbers?

Best regards,
elmarto

Yes, that is what I need.

The purpose is to have a smaller version of this that I can place on
my website, and the user can see the animation. Then, they will click
on the animation and the real live page will show up.

All the flash animation should be is a smaller version of what is in the web page.

The flash animation should look exactly like a Windows XP window with
the table with two columns and the bars that move, and the changing
numbers.

Hi timtitus!
You can find your flash animation at the following address:

http://www.angelfire.com/alt/elmarto

You might want to show this a bit larger than the 300 px width,
because at this size, the numbers are barely readable. The bars
movement can be clearly seen, though.

I hope you're satisfied with the animation. If you're not, or if you
need the .fla file to make any changes to it (I only posted the .swf
file in the link above), by all means let me know through a
clarification request. I'll be more than happy to continue this until
you're satisfied with the final product.

Best wishes!

ElMarto: The animation of the bargraph currently "blinks" between the
different animations. Can this be easily fixed?

This looks really good so far!

Yes, I would also like the source SWF.

Hi timtitus!
Well, I actually made it blink on purpose! I thought that you wanted
this animation to be exactly like the windows in your page, which
blinks when numbers change. This can be very easily fixed; in fact, it
would have been easier to do the animation without the "blinks" in
between.

Unfortunately, I don't have access right now to the flash animation in
order to change it, but rest assured I'll post the fixed animation,
and its .fla source, first thing tomorrow (Monday).

Best wishes!

Hi again timtitus!
Your flash animation is done, you can download it from the same link,
under "Updates":

http://www.angelfire.com/alt/elmarto

Again, if you feel it still needs any improvement, don't hesitate to
post a clarification request.

Best wishes!

elmarto:
The bar graphs do not properly mimic the website.

The Tx bar graph should start at 14.55% and then smoothly animate to
39.59% then 5.61% before smoothly scrolling back to 14.55%.

The Rx bar graph should do the same: 12.09% animates up to 16.32%,
then up to 29.50% before animating back down to 12.09%.

Hi timtitus,
I guess I'm seeing a different thing when I open that window. When I
watch the green bar (in the site), after filling up to, say, 39.59%,
it stays there for about 2 seconds, then it momentarily goes back to
near 0%, and then climbs from near 0% to the next number.

So let's clear up what you need. From your clarification request, I
assume you don't want the bar to go to 0%, never. I'll be able to use
the Flash animator in about 4 hours, and will post the fixed animation
then (it won't take me more than 10 minutes to fix it). Please let me
know through a clarification request if my above assumption is
correct.

Best wishes!

Yes, you are correct. The animation should never go to zero. It
should just animate between the percentages and go up and down, no
flickering.

I guess my browser refreshes fast enough that I can't see any flicker.

This should make it perfect! Thanks for your patience!

Hi timtitus!
I have already updated the files on the site, so now the bars never go
to 0%. I also noticed that I had neglected to change the numbers under
the "interface speed" column; that has also been fixed.

As before, don't hesitate to request a clarification if you feel
there's something that needs to be changed.

Cheers!
