dear tar_heel_v

So in reply to your comment what do I pay and where to I go to look
for these business plans?.

On a more general issue, I of course would not expect to see recent business
plans where there would be a high level of confidentiality.

However where the relevent companies have gone on to prosper (or to die!)
then i would think the business plan should well be in the public domain.
As there are I would think hundreds of thousands of these around ,
getting examples of 3 or 4 should not be a big deal.

I recently read a book about startup of Coffee Republic (chain of
Coffee stores in England) and the co founders who found the business
have printed the business plan.

I ask therfore it it really so difficult to get hold of Business plans
for IT companies?.

Cheers

mongolia..

It isn't the difficulty in finding what you are looking for. The fact
is that, typically, successful business plans are not readily
available for free.

You can get examples but they really don't provide much information.
You'd better get in touch with a venture capitalist, buy The Business
Plan Work Book or http://www.deloitte.com/dtt/article/0,1002,sid%253D26551%2526cid%253D9021,00.html
(download the pdf at the bottom), check the branch organisation for IT
in the UK for financial and market data or get annual reports.
remeber, you could write the best business plan in the books and fail
miserably or start without one and make it to the Fortune 500.
Good luck!
