Thanks for your comment on my question, it was helpful. While I am
still open to a fully researched answer on
http://answers.google.com/answers/threadview?id=396974, let me get
your input on the following idea: I post the list I have (with your
additions) of possible businesses that fit my targets and then pay
each researcher who can add to the list via answer or comment. Perhaps
single business answers get $10 and multiple business answers get
more, does this strategy make sense to you?

Perhaps I was unclear, the $35 here was intended as compensation for
Omnivorous for his comments on my "blue collar" question. I will adopt
the "Lindstrom" format in the future, now that it is pointed out to me
it seems quite logical.

Kingway --

Thanks so much for posting this question for me. I thought that it
might be interesting to look at some local shopping strips near
Boeing's 747 factory in Everett, WA. It's a noted blue collar area --
though as you'll see from the last shopping area it has an upscale
middle class neighborhood nearby.

In fact, WA Highway 99 has a large number of used car dealers, said to
be there because of Boeing's old habit of paying bonuses twice each
year -- meaning that young workers (this was back when they HAD young
workers) would buy a sports car, then often have to trade it in when
times got tight.

This is an extremely varied retail area, with everything from pottery
centers (with kiln) to lawn equipment dealers. Interestingly, the
Seattle habit of putting an espresso stand in every open parking lot
holds true, no matter what the demographics are:

Hello kingway-ga,

I'm sure my colleague, Omnivorous-ga, will give you a terrific answer.
In the meantime, you might want to take a look at the approach taken
