I am a new grad student in bioengineering (biomedical engineering) and
am trying to decide specifically what discipline of the field to go
into. A big factor in what I decide to go with will be the salary I
can expect with a M.S. degree. Bioengineering is a very broad field,
including biomechanics, cardiovascular (artificial heart valve design,
etc.), biological imaging, medical instrumentation, biomaterials,
orthopedics, and ophthalmology, to name just a few.

This is a link to the U.S. Dept. of Labor Statistics page for
biomedical engineering salary statistics. The problem is that the
survey doesn?t break down the broad field of bioengineering; it simply
gives one generic salary.
Please find salary ranges for specific bioengineering disciplines with
a M.S. in bioengineering. A geographical breakdown would be nice,
too, but that is secondary.
Thanks for your time,
