Question ID: 397613
1. I am a senior who thought he knew enough about programs to do the following:
2. I am moving into a senior retirement home next month, I do not
have enough storage room to bring all my important papers so I bought
"Paper Port" software to use with my HP3400C. That worked fine, I set
up many folders & sub Folders to scan to - I was able to scan single
sheets or multiple sheets with no problem. My Scanner gave out - so I
bought a CanScan 3200F and pluged into a UBS2 port.
3. I am embarassed to admit that I have spent 2-3 months trying to get
PaperPort to work with this new scanner, coming in through Paperport,
clicking on scan and sometimes it scans but I never can get it to scan
multiple sheets for the the same folder.
4. It sometimes wants to go into ArcSoft photoprogram or sometimes I
have to start all over again! Sometime I use JPEG,or PDF for my
output.I have tried to come in by using Scan Direct - no dice.

5. Sometimes it says "Scanned" but I don't know where it went!
I have a Dell Laptop, with 512 meg ram, I am sure it isn't the computer - just me.
Any good answers will be appreciated.

Uhm right off the top

Do you have a current version of paperport or is it real old :)

http://www.scansoft.com/paperport/ <--- I'm geussing this is the site

I'd check to see if its compatible to your new scanner by fluke it may not be

http://www.scansoft.com/paperport/support/ <--- is the support page
has tons of info and tips

http://support.scansoft.com/downloads/ <--- is where you would get
drivers etc.. if you need them

I dont notice drivers for the Canscan if someone doesnt get exact info
on that scanner then you can try customer support chances are theyll
know.

I dont have a softdemo of the software but software generally works
the same either you will have a default scan directory or you will be
able to choose the directory

I dont see why your imbarressed I cant even find the exact data
without going over an extended ammount of data and I still dont know..

are you able to save the pages if you are and your naming them you can
try using windows search option start search enter file name to find
the file and the directory its in although if you are using the same
software it should be the same process (usually)

maybe some technowiz bloke here will be able to get you specific data
on your scanner and software implementation conflicts or oversights..
otherwise contacting the software manufactorer about their hardware
support for the canscan would be where I would do. You never know it
could be a hardware issue.. or a burnt out port or something?

have you installed the drivers yet .. did windows detect your hardware?
