There have been four. Here are their names and the dates of their bombings: Wafa Idriss - January 28, 2002 Dareen Abu Aisheh - February 27, 2002 Ayat Akhras - March 29, 2002 Andaleeb Takafka - April 12, 2002 To view a whole timeline of bombers, visit the CNN website below. In the bottom left is the link "Timeline: Terror chronology". Click on it. http://www.cnn.com/SPECIALS/2002/terror.victims/index.html The CNN timeline isn't completely up-to-date, but through my searches I've concluded that there have not been any further female bombers since Takafka. Here are a couple articles that may also interest you: "Woman describes the mentality of a suicide bomber" http://www.usatoday.com/news/world/2002/04/22/cover.htm "Female Suicide Bombers: The New Factor in Mideast's Deadly Equation" http://www.washingtonpost.com/ac2/wp-dyn?pagename=article&node=&contentId=A57052-2002Apr26 I used the following search terms in Google to obtain this information: "Dareen Abu Aisheh" "Ayat Akhras" Suicide Bomber timeline Female Suicide Bombers suicide bomber timeline palestine israel I hope this helps you. Was this question supposed to be about Israel-Palestine, or about female suicide bombers. "Female suicide bombers are not a recent phenomena, they're just new to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. The Tamil Tigers have recruited more women than men for suicide attacks, and not just because women are less likely to get searched or to arouse suspicion. Men are considered more suited to training recruits, so it's just more efficient to have women kill themselves. No surprise to find men keeping themselves at the centre of things, relegating women to positions of service rather than strategy." http://www.guardian.co.uk/gender/story/0,11812,690556,00.html |
