I have gathered some quotes for you, and have created one of my own. "Rapport is the quality of harmony, recognition and mutual acceptance that exists between people when they are at ease with one another and where communication is occurring easily." Pegasus NLP Trainings http://www.nlp-now.co.uk/rapport.htm "Rapport is the ability to enter someone else's world, to make him feel that you understand him, that you have a strong common bond. It's the ability to go fully from your map of the world to his map of the world. It's the essence of successful communication." Author: Anthony Robbins Personal Success Magazine: Rapport http://www.devco.demon.co.uk/rapport1.html "Thinking like people is vital for establishing rapport. Rapport is that sense of commonality and compatibility that precedes trust... Rapport is the magic to make all your interpersonalcommunications work." Author: Scott Arbuthnot Retailer News: The Magic of Rapport http://www.retailernews.com/899/arbuthnot899.html "Rapport is not a state; it is a process of continually building the sense of trust with the other person." Merrill Associates: Sharpening Your Interviewing Skills http://www.merrillassociates.net/topic/2000/10 My own creation: "Just as a port serves to bring ships toward the safety of shore, rapport serves to guide humans toward the formation of stable relationships." I hope this is helpful! Best regards, pinkfreud |
