Question ID: 39804
Software package needed for online business start-up:
Pre-employment/Criminal/Credit background checking for industry and/or
law enforcement

I need the name(s) and phone number(s)of a company or companies that
distribute specially designed software for this industry- specifically
business to business. I am NOT interested in companies that perform
the functions of background checking. I do it for a living but want to
do it on the web and need a software package from a highly reputable
and recognized leader in the the industry.
My business currently uses phone and fax to retreive
the info for potential employers as well as property owners looking to
lease/rent units to individuals. I am NOT interested in the thousands
of internet businesses that charge $29.95 and up to track down this
info for individuals. I need the business software-in other words, the
producer/designer-of the software that is actually utilized to perform
these
types of background checks. There are also companies that are linked
to
national, state and county databases that provide the software for
free and charge businesses like mine a monthly fee for performing
these checks.

Greetings! I have located a software design company which deals with
the information you request. I phoned the toll-free number to
ascertain they were in business and could supply you with a program of
this design. I spoke with a man named Alex who stated they could
specially design such a program.

"software design investigation" search term

This search returned Black Hat Networks, LLC, based in Arlington, VA.

I'm assuming you are already familiar with Net Detective 7.0 software.
If not, please visit this site:

Good morning,
I thank you for the time you put into researching a firm that can
provide this type of software. It would cost a great deal of money to
use the company you recommended as the software is specifically
designed for each client. There are companies that specifically design
the software for industry that is more generic- for lack of a better
term. In other words...who designed/produces the software similar to
what Net Detective sells on their website- ready made?
I wish I had the funds to use the company you recommended but we're
talking about reinventing the wheel. I just need a "wheel" that works
for now (:
However, down the road they are certainly going to get business from
me.
If anything else comes to mind please let me know.
Thanks again

Well, darn - sorry they were out of your current price range, but I'm
happy you were pleased with what they could offer you in the future.

I just searched the phrase "net detective creator" and, in one of the
returns, I saw the name of the creator/designer, Scott Waite. So I
thought, "Hmmm...maybe he could be approached to tailor a product for
your needs at less cost than Black Hat.."

I then searched the phrase "Scott Waite net detective" and found a web
site titled WaitesWorld.com that offered a message board listing,
http://waiteswebworld.com/board/?topic=topic2&msg=2 On that board he
had posted and when I clicked to his message, his name had an email
link which is
www@waiteswebworld.com Hopefully that will put you in touch with him
and who knows? Your needs might turn into him developing a more
comprehensive program.

SpyTools also offers software, however I have no way of knowing if
it's the same specs as Net Detective. Their website is
http://www.spy-tools-software.com/ and I found it by searching
"detective programs". Along with Net Detective, they offer links to
two programs that seem similar:

CyberDetective
http://www.yourinvestigation.com/clickbank.html?hop=palehorset.cyberdet

Net-vestigator
http://www.net-vestigator.com/main.htm?hop=palehorset.walnum2

I was unable to run down the names of their creators, but maybe a
software store has the program (or one of your colleagues) and the
author's names will be in the software somewhere or on the packaging.

I hope this information is of service in your quest. Your occupation
sounds very interesting and educational. : )
