Greetings! What an extraordinary pattern! I can see why you are
contemplating the purchase of a set of Uva dinnerware. I did not find
it elsewhere for less, but I did find you a savings of $41 on the
purchase from Horchow.
After phoning the Horchow company at 1.877.944.9888 and speaking with
Francisco at extension 2587, I found out it is not available anywhere
else, which is why Horchow terms it an "exclusive". However, after
querying Francisco on discounts or "any way I could get it for less",
he said that if the entire set was ordered as on the page, he could
authorize waiving of the shipping charge which he said was $41. That
would translate a savings for you of $10.25 per dinner plate. [NOTE: I
based the set on a four-piece complete place setting including one
serving platter, one bowl, one set of cannisters and one pitcher.]
I hope this is the information for which you were looking, as you will
save a translation of over $10 per dinner plate in this manner.
Francisco said he would remember my inquiry - however, I queried with
"This is an expensive set and I'm wondering if Horchow can do anything
to ease the price a little? You know what they economy is like right
now!" so I would suggest you use that tact when you call back if
Francisco is not available.

While I appreciate your discussion with Horchow, I was only looking
for a set of dinner plates, salad plates and bowls, not the entire
set. In order to save $41 on shipping costs, I would need to spend a
few hundred more dollars than planned! Instinctively, I know I can
try to negotiate with Horchow on shipping, and even on the price -
this is why I challenged you to find this overpriced dinnerwhere set
elsewhere. Nothing is truly exclusive, as once this china is sold, it
is out of Horchow's control. I am challenging the GA community to
find this "exclusive" dinnerware elsewhere. I will now open it up to
any used, scratch-n-dent, ebay or other auction, or any other method
of finding specifically, a minimum of four sets of dinner plates,
salad plates and bowls of this set. If you find them and they are in
good enough condition for me to purchase, the $25 is yours. The other
items (mugs, chargers, platters, serving bowls, cannisters, pitcher) I
am less interested in, but would consider at some price I imagine.
Again, the URL for this set is
http://www.horchow.com/store/catalog/prod.jhtml?itemId=cprod1670379&parentId=cat000028
Good Luck!

Greetings! I feel I should have asked for clarification as to your
definition of "set" in your original question as I mistook it to mean
the entire set. I apologize for the misunderstanding.
I did check Ebay and Half.com in my original search but found no
"Horchow Uva" in titles or descriptions. I just did the same a few
moments ago with no results, but I will continue to research the itmes
now with the new definition. I hope I am able to find them for you,
and thanks for your clarification.

Also, just so you are aware, Horchow is the catalog arm for Neiman
Marcus, and they are one in the same company. They both offer the set
for the same price on their online stores, and Neiman offers the set
at an even higher price in their store.

Thanks for this additional information. I would suggest that you
register a "watch" at Ebay for the Uva dinnerware. That way if
someone puts it online, you will receive an email alerting you. I'm
continuing to look for it for you. : )

A side note: if there is a Neiman Marcus store close to you, I have
found references to a 30% employee discount. That could be an option
if you are near enough to a store to make working a part-time job
convenient. And still looking. : )
