I'm a bald man with oily skin, so I tend to get a greasy, shiny head
pretty quickly. This has been an issue for me for years, and the only
things I could find to fix the problem were mattifiers which felt like
a second layer of skin and were more of a coverup than a solution. I
tried standard skin oil control products, but although they helped my
face, they did not do anything for my scalp. I'd like to know if there
are any products specifically formulated for fixing shiny heads on
bald men, and if so, where I can purchase them.

There is no answer at this time.

I have a friend who has exactly the same problem. What worked best for
him was a product called "Johnson's Clean & Clear Shine Control
Astringent." He dilutes it half-and-half with water and pats it onto
his scalp with a cosmetic sponge. The product is designed for facial
skin, but according to my friend, it does a great job of
de-chromifying his shiny dome.

He also occasionally uses HeadLube "Matte":

Thanks for the quick response, but I'd really like to find some
non-mattifying products specifically targeted at de-oiling the scalp.
I've tried the headblade product, but it's a mattifier, hence a
coverup and not a solution.

Have you tried using a shampoo containing zinc PCA?

No I haven't, but it's also not really what I'm looking for -- I'm
looking for a lotion or balm. this might help: my friend recently said
a magazine named 'Cargo' did an article that featured some products
that fit what I was looking for.. I'll look into it, but I think
you're heading in the right direction.
