I tryed to take the sticker off of a glass jar, and I suceeded in
removing the paper, but the whole rest of the jar where the sticker
was, is covered in this sticky, gluey substance. I tryed to remove the
glue with a scouring sponge, and then with steel wool, but it won't
come off. What do you recomend to remove the glue? I think I once saw
a tip on how to remove it on tv, but I dont remember what it was.

I often remove labels from jars so that I can reuse the jars.

I use a product called Goo Gone to get rid of the sticky residue.
Works like a charm.

Isopropyl alcohol (Rubbing Alcohol) dabbed on a pice of cotton also
does the trick and it's cheap. Depending on how stickey it is you
might have to let it set for a bit. But make sure you have a piece of
plastic underneath as it might take off the finish of the table.

My wife uses a product called UN-DU ADHESIVE REMOVER to remove
stickers and labels form all kinds of products. It seems to remove
everything - sticker AND glue - at the same time.

Let me know if this works for you as an answer.

I find that vegetable oil will do the job on many types of glue and sticky stuff.
