I used to date a Texan, and believe you me, not EVERYTHING is bigger. |

I thought it started as a Comment. When Texans were introduced to something out of state, they reputedly often made this observation, so it then passed into legend. Like all good Comments. |

Next time a Texan tells you that, inform them that Alaska is twice the size of their state. That always pleases them immensely. |

Two Texans are talking about their ranches, and doing a bit of bragging... Texan #1: Why...I can hop in my pickup, and it still takes me dang near all day to drive from one end of my ranch to the other. Texan #2: Yup! I had a truck like that, once. |

If Texans get too far out of line, Alaska will split into two states and make Texas the "third" largest. From a book called "Texas Brags:" - "Texas - a place where you can drive farther and see less than anywhere else in the world." Actually, I like texas. When I was a kid, I used to spend my summers on a ranch just outside Denton. Today the ranch is gone and it is all sub-division. I still have my "Texas Brags" book from almost 50 years ago. Digs |
