I believe 'Jimminy' is a variant of 'Djimini'. The Djimini are a sub-group of the Senoufo group of Côte d'Ivoire, Mali, and Burkina Faso. Alternate spellings include Jimini, Jinmini, and Dyimini. Here you can find information about the Djimini people: Wild West Africa Connection: Djimini of Côte d'Ivoire http://www.wwac.org/djimini/ Ethnologue: SENOUFO, DJIMINI: a language of Côte d?Ivoire http://www.ethnologue.com/show_language.asp?code=DYI Here is an example of a Djimini mask: Africa Club: Traditional African Art http://www.africaclub.com/anti303i.htm Google search strategy: Google Web Search: djimini ://www.google.com/search?hl=en&ie=UTF-8&q=djimini I hope this is helpful. If anything is unclear or incomplete, please request clarification; I'll be glad to offer further assistance before you rate my answer. Best regards, pinkfreud |
