You shouldn't have to do it through a state. Most states require residency anyway. For a Personally Owned Vehicle, there appear to be ways and offices in Germany to do this. http://www.ansbach.army.mil/staff/PMO/POVFAQ.HTM There is a testing office in Mannheim: DRIVERS LICENSE TESTING OFFICE Sullivan Bks, Bldg. 253, 3rd floor 385-2473/2875 M-F 0730-1100, 1200-1530; Closed U.S. Holidays Heidelberg: http://www.heidelberg.army.mil/moving/licensing.html Your age should not be a problem: -1. LICENSING POLICY a. The minimum age to apply for a U.S. Forces certificate of license with a valid country drivers license is 17 I guess the question is whether you need a valid State-side license before applying for the German one. -V |
