How do I remove HSA w/o regedit?

The page implies step 4 is to run the executable (download button is
on the left.  Read the whole page first.  Back up all the important
information before using the software, as the author recommends.

hsremove.exe, the long-shot Step #1 of the Short-Media guide.

hsremove.exe (at hsremove.com & at softpedia) is for WINXP & 2K only. 
My problem PC is using WIN98.  Still looking for a simple fix.  I'm
shocked that  the anti-spyware & anti-virus programs have nothing yet.

Everything I've seen relies on HJT logs & regedit actions, none of
which are guaranteed.
