In our office there is a collection box for used postage stamps for
charity. I believe that charities make money from stamp collections by
selling them. I would like to know who buys these stamps and why?

I am aware that there is a bulk market for these used stamps. What I
want to know is why does anyone want them.

They are probably sold in bulk to stamp stores.
