Question ID: 400497
What is the cheapest and the most expensive single item that can be
ordered from the books section of amazon.com?

I'd only like to know about books that can be ordered from amazon.com
itself (not via their Marketplace/zShops sellers) - no "out of print"
items, please. The answer must include the books' ISBN numbers.

Please note that book sets (containing several books that can also be
bought separately) does not count.

If there are several books costing 1 cent (or even nothing), it's OK
to tell me of only one of these.

Hi blazius,
I would like to know if "special order" items count such as:
Title: Mobility and Transport for Elderly and Disabled Persons
(Transportation Studies)
ISBN: 2881247636
Price: 773.00

Also, what do you think of the following books?

Title:The Adventures of Old Mr. Toad (Dover Children's Thrift Classics)
ISBN: 0486403858
Price: 1.50

Title: Encyclopedia of Separation Science 10 Volume Set with Online Version
ISBN: 0122267702
Price: 3,197.95

Thanks.

Magazines does not count, but special order books are OK.
Encyclopediae (and other book sets) are OK if the volumes cannot be
ordered separately. Only "real books count - no electronic titles
such as Tapper's book mentioned in the comments section.

As for the lower end of the price scale, please include any special
fees (like the "sourcing fee" for the "Old Mr. Toad" books) in your
calculations.

Do you want Amazon links as part of the answer?

Clarification of Question by blazius-ga on 27 Sep 2004 00:22 PDT
googleexpert,
sorry for not replying earlier - I have not recieved any notifications
from Google Answers about your clarification request (or of your
comment!) - I just recieved a notification of probonopublico's latest
comment (26 Sep).

Amazon links are not neccesary, but they won't hurt either.

Hi blazius,

Thank you for clarifying the question.
Just curious, from the prices posted in the last 2 weeks,
what is the cheapest and the most expensive single item from amazon.com
according to your criteria?

Thanks again.

Your suggestions in the comments section are the best suggestions
(yet). I would sccept them as a answer if noone has come up with a
better answer before the 12th of October.

Anyone posting an answer for this quiestion should (as usual) include

Here's a new book set priced at $13,000.

Being a set, it doesn't meet your criteria whether or not Amazon are
going to list it:

But, wow, I thought you might like to buy a set anyway.

Go on, treat yourself!

Not to throw in a monkey-wrench or anything, but here's a
single-volume work (all 65 pounds of it!) that is pretty close to the
top of the list, I would think:
