Hi rob42,

I am not certain he is the author, but Robert H. Wright said the poem
in his Inaugural Address upon his installation as president of East
Carolina Teachers Training School, November 12, 1909.

"The works of God are all for naught,
Unless our eyes in seeing,
See underneath the thing, the thought
That animates its being."
