I am looking for statistics on the number of breeders in the United
States for the following: 1) dogs  2) cats  3) horses. If an exact
number cannot be found but there is a source for estimated numbers
that would be fine.

I've found a national listing for the US that lists the following categories:


Horse Breeders & Dealers -- 3593 listings
Dog Breeders -- 548 listings
Cat Breeders -- 68  listings


Would that sort of information meet your needs?

No, not really because I know that there are probably thousands of dog
as well as cat breeders in the U.S. so I don't think that's even
close. But, thanks for trying. I've tried researching this info too,
and have had hard time finding answers.

According to the Canadian Horse Incentive Program Inc, there are over
100,000 horse breeders in Canada.
