Okay, Anthony, here it is officially!

I'd love to see copies of the originals of the two documents to which
you pointed me in my previous question--the intercept and the notes
from the Nov. 28 conference--or perhaps copies of the original,
official US translation. Anything which is an 'official' source
document for this information, whether it be the original intercept,
or the official Navy (or whatever) translation. Basically, I'm looking
for the primary sources to back this stuff up--don't want to cite it
and find that I've gone out on a tenuous limb.

I'm not sure exactly how to price this. How about $50.00 if you can
tell me exactly who to contact to get these two things (with the
expectation that the documents will actually be forthcoming; I've
already done some fruitless emailing). And another $50.00 (as a tip),
if you can provide me with the actual documents online, via pdf or
whatever. Hope that sounds fair.

What is the november 28th conference you are refering to?

As I understand it, you would like to view the original of this
document (the intercept):

To: Berlin
November 30, 1941
Purple (CA)
#985. (Part 1 of 3)[a]

I'm not sure what the conference on the 28th is in my original response.

Are you refering to the November 13th meeting with the German
Ambassador or perhaps, the December 7'th cabinet meeting with FDR?

Please clarify and I'll further look into this matter.

Thanks,
Anthony

Sorry. I'm being confusing. I do mean, first, the Japanese intercept
from Nov. 30. But second, I mean this:
http://www.tbrnews.org/Archives/a009ger.htm.

On November 28th, Hitler attended a State Funeral at which an upcoming
Japanese attack "within ten days" was apparently mentioned. Bormann
took notes, and it's those in which I'm interested!

Let me know if this clarifies, or I just further muddled the question. Thanks.

O.K. got it. I think I tracked down the original intercept at a
library archive- but I'm still trying to find the original images on
the web. Apparently it's on micro-fiche. I'll see what I can do.

Just wanted to check in, see if you've had any luck with the micro-fiche ...

Sorry this is taking so long. It has been rather more difficult than I
had expected and I am bogged down with a lot of other projects as
well. I will keep looking though and get back to you soon. I will at
least post the libraries that have it on micro and there seems to be a
lexis service that can be purchased to view some of these formerly
classified documents.

I'll get that info to you soon and look for some more specific stuff
as well. Thanks for your patience.

It sounds brilliant!

I'm making this Comment to remind myself about a brilliant question
and Anthony's response.

(Hope you don't mind.)
