I have just purchased a new computer running with win xp pro. My last
machine was running win 98 se. When downloading large mp3 files or
vid files, I would use the find function in win 98 se and using a part
of the name of the file, locate the file as it grew (download not
complete) in the temp internet folder. From there, I could copy it to
the desk top, run what was downloaded and see if it was what I really
wanted and if not kill
the download. I do not use streaming to hear or see as I go. With
win xp pro, the search function will only locate the mp3 or vid
(avi, mpg,rm,etc) when the download is complete and then in the temp
internet folder. I cannot find the file while the download is in
progress. I want to see or hear the file before the download is
completed, like I could do with win98 se. Is the a procedure or a
piece of software that will allow me to do this. With win 98 se, I
could tell the system where I wanted the file to go once the download
was complete. The machine could copy the file from temp internet
folder to the target folder. Thanks |
