I am located in the San Francisco, CA and I work in the financial
services industry. The company has about 20 people spread across 3
different areas: Jackson, MS, San Francisco, CA, and San Antonio, TX.

I have 11 years experience in the Finance and Technology industries.
I hold a BS in Int'l Finance and an MCSE.

Please do not return data obtained from Salary.com. I have already
looked there and would like to obtain information from other sources.

Thx.

Thank you for your comments. However, I don't think that I have quite
been clear enough in my job description. This position includes
network adiministration and IT management, however it also will
involve developing mission critical software applications that the
company will use as a competitive advantage and a source of revenue.

My fellow IT member may become frustrated with my answer, but I
wouldn't pay more than $70K for this type of network. In FL this job
might pay $50K, but 20 users and 3 network sites certainly doesn't
offer much support. The $20K difference due to location may be
slightly off, but don't let anyone bully you into paying market value
for a large corporation when you are talking a very, very small
position. If this person knocks your socks off, just be prepared to
give them the appropriate raises to bring them to $75-85K when the
time comes. In this case the "Director of IT" sounds more like an IT
Manager or Network Administrator. Additing the "Director" title just
adds money to salary when the other position can accomplish the same
goal.

Good Luck!
