A start-up providing competitive market intelligence services
worldwide is seeking funding of $2.5 million. Two of the founders
were the former Co-CEOs of the market leader in this industry. This
is a business that has incredible profitability. They had a
non-compete agreement that has just expired. The company is looking
to raise these funds from accredited investors or smaller venture
capital funds in the New York/New Jersey/Connecticut area. It is
looking for a list of 25 such people including contact information.
Please do not include the large VC funds that everyone is familiar
with ? some examples of those will be Flatiron Partners. The company
is looking for smaller players.

Hello -
Are the founders investing anything into it? What kind of market intelligence?
I have discovered a free database that houses contact information for
"smaller" VC's in those areas. Is this the kind of thing you're
looking for?

The founders have already invested but the amount is minimal. I am
not sure they will be comfortable revealing details of the service on
this site. The other service they ran is very well known and
virtually a household name to people in that industry as are the
founders.
Regarding the VC database that you have located - that may be what I
am looking for provided it is a reliable database. I too have found
some - if your database on the web start is similar to
"slate*********.com" then I already have that. There are a few others
that I have so if you can let me know in the same manner which one is
yours then I will be definitely be able to tell you yes or no.
Would be most interested in a list of private equite accredited investors.
Thanks

Thank you for the clarification. Take a look at:
www.mycapital.com
They have a very extensive, free database of what seems to comprise
smaller VC firms. You have to create an account for instant access to
their services. They ask you for a few details on your company, but
you can supply pretty generic information. When searching for
companies, I would select "ALL" as the "investment industry."
Please let me know if this would work as an answer.

I was aware of this site - as also the other site that allows you to
post an executive summary and a business plan for folks to download
and they charge you based on number of times your plan has been read.
The trouble with mycapital is there is no guarantee that the firms
they have listed are genuine.

I think having to pay for a list would definitely help to insure a
better baseline of quality.
