Hello I spent a fair amount of time searching for an online list of hospital and birth statistics but I had no luck, looks like the online list that you are looking for is just not available. As davidsar-ga says in his comment there are data available but not at the hospital level. The good news is that the America Hospital Association collects that data but is in paper form. You can find the association at http://www.ahadata.com/. Their web page is a little difficult to navigate specially if you want to build a query on your own. I called them at 800-821-2039 and they were very helpful. They told me that you can find a nationwide list of hospitals and the number of births in the AHA Guide. The guide is available at any furnished library and there is a different book for each year. You can also purchase the book from them at 325$ but the library solution is much more economical. Alternatively they can run a query of their system and provide you with nationwide reports (hospital name, address and number of births) for around 1100$. If you are only interested in results by state they can run the same query for up to two states for 25$. I also found the following sites, they didn't answer your question but I think they have interesting data. The national center for health statistics has several documents with birth data but none at the hospital level. http://www.cdc.gov/nchs/births.htm http://www.healthgrades.com has birth data by hospital but they are very local (the site is design for the public to choose a hospital). If you are interested in local data you can read my comment below. I used several queries to get these results "hospital ratings birth" "hospital statistical data birth" "USA hospital statistics" Let me know if any clarification is needed silviares |

Hello since you do not specify if you want data nationwide or for a specified area I will post this as a comment. The site I have found is http://www.healthgrades.com/public/index.cfm?fuseaction=mod&modtype=HRC&modact=HRC_search_form. The data provided are local (you have to choose obstetrics, the state and then the area) but then you are presented with a list of hospitals with data from 1998 to 2000. The total number of births is in the column next to the ratings. Also if you click on top on "More Data 2002 Analysis" you can obtain the split between c-sections and vaginal births together with the number of complications. Then if you click on the name of the hospital you can obtain the address and other information about the institution. Hope this helps, if this is what you are looking for I could post this as an answer. silviares |

You can find information on the number of births for any COUNTY in the U.S. at the following site: http://www.cdc.gov/nchs/data/t982x01.pdf Of course, this doesn't get you info for specific hospitals, but hey, it's a start.... |
