Quite awhile ago, I used to have problems with getting knocked off AOL frequently. I no longer have this problem. Of course, I no longer use AOL either... |

Since most real computer experts feel that using AOL as a filter between users and the real internet isn't a particularly good idea, you may have problems finding really useful advice other than an echo of mdpa173's somewhat veiled suggestion that you get off AOL and simply use an ISP. You may still have problems but at least you will have removed one extremely complex and troublesome layer. Otherwise you have little choice other than to rely on AOL's troubleshooting assistance. |

I would talk to those who provide your DSL service; whenever I have troubles getting connected to AOL via DSL, it ends up being the phone company's fault :) Kriswrite |

AOL will never admit this, but they are the problem. Whenever you call their help line about getting kicked off, they always blame your modem, your computer, or noise in the phone lines. However, as we know, AOL is not the most reliable internet service and you will frequently get booted when they have system problems or their lines are too busy. |
