Hi, I need the contact number for 800 resporgs. If there's a list of
them all, then kudos. Otherwise I need Global Crossing, Sprint, and
Broadwing. I need the number by which i can check 800# ownership at
each of these companies (not a general call in number). I"ve posted
this as $20, and happy to pay for just one of these numbers at $20
(please verify that the number you get IS the number for
800#ownership/ordering). I'll happily tip an extra $10 for each other
number, so all three and i'll tip $20 on top of the $20. (again please
verify if it is the right number). If you can get me the resporg
number database i'll tip $80 on top.

Thansk!

Hello headsetsdotcom-ga,

Resporg phone numbers I can get you! Global Crossing, Sprint, and
Broadwing are all included, along with more than 2,000 others. The
database can be downloaded into a spreadsheet file, and includes
company name, addres, phone number and the name of a contact person.

BUT...you also asked that we verify that: "...the number you get IS
the number for 800#ownership/ordering."

At that point, I sort of lost you. What sort of information are you
looking for from the Resporg's, and how can we verify that the listed
number is the right number for your needs? You asked about checking
800 ownership, but from some preliminary checking, I'm not sure the
Resporg's freely give out this information.

Perhaps you can try a bit of verification yourself, and let me know if
this looks like the right information.

Here's the listing for Broadwing:

Broadwing Communications, LLC
Kathy Melby
512-742-7627
1122 Capital of Texas Highway So.
Austin, TX 78746-6426

If that seems like the right contact, then I can readily get you about 2,000 more!

Let me know what you think.

Hello Mike,

Thanks for getting back to me so quickly.

I've doing a bit more scratching around on the Resporgs -- I've had an
interest in them for a while, and this question was the impetus to get
myself a bit more background. As a result, I can offer not one, not
two, but three lists of Resporg contact information.

I hope these lists will get you to the person/information you're
after. But from what I'm seeing though, it sure looks like the actual
ownership information for individual toll-free numbers is treated as
confidential business information, despite the suggestion at several
websites that the Resporgs will freely give out this information.

I usually don't solicit ratings or tips from customers, but since you
offered an additional fee for additional information, please be aware
that you can provide a tip of up to $100, and you can also provide a
rating of up to five stars to indicate your level of satisfaction (or
dissatisfaction...!) with the answer.

But before rating this answer, let me know if anything here is not
clear, or if you need additional information, Just post a Request
for Clarification, and I'll be happy to assist you further.

==========

A useful site for starters is junkfax.org page on useful tools for
investigating junk faxes:

http://www.junkfax.org/fax/misc/investigation_tools.htm

There's some good information here on dealing with Resporgs, including
a link to the site for the database that I mentioned:

http://www.nanpa.com/number_resource_info/carrier_id_codes.html

They instruct you to "download the "Feature Group D CIC assignments"
-- this is the 2,000+ file I mentioned earlier -- but you can
actually go right to the database here:

http://www.nanpa.com/nas/public/formCICBMasterReport.do?method=displayCICDMasterReport

Note that at the very bottom of the list is an option to download the
whole thing into an Excel file.

These appear to be largely contacts to the legal departments at the
various companies listed.

Here are a few other Resporg lists as well:

You may use this page to obtain contact information for a specific
provider or to get a list of the toll-free service providers
associated with the SMS/800.

SMS/800, click here.

The above is the SMS group that keeps the master list of toll-free
numbers. Click on the link they provide, and you'll be taken to a
Resporg contact list.

And another is at:

The last few pages of this book have a list of Resporg companies and
contact information.

Hope this all meets your needs. Let me know if you need anything else.

Ameritech has an automated service at 800-337-4194; they typically
give a service number associated with the Resp Org.

If you are looking for a list of all toll free numbers associated with
each resporg id by carrier, it does not exist. (or atleast you could
not get it ethically. Only the SMS database in St. Louis would have
this info.)
