I have a computer that I just reinstalled the OS. I lost the original driver CD for the video and network cards. This is not a branded computer and I can not contact the maker of the computer at this time. I can not figure out the brand of the cards since they built in to the motherboard. My question is: is there a way to install the drivers given that I lost the driver CD that comes with the computer. or is there a way to find out what brand of the card so I can go download the driver from the vendor's website. Thanks |

First, start with the Main Board... Do you know the manufacture and model? (It usually splashes on the screen on boot). Then, go to the Main Board Mfr's web site and download all the drivers for that board. Usually, if the NIC and Video are onboard, the Main Board's manufacturer has all the drivers, regardless of if it is different branding than the board. (For instance, an Asus MB, a RealTek NIC, and an NVidia Display Adapter, and an AC'97 sound card). This is a free comment. |

go to driverguide.com, download to driverguide toolkit "free trial". It will detect what drivers you need and offer various download sites. |
