So many questions to ask.... Is your desktop also wireless or does your wireless router have a built-in switch? (or, more to the point, what's the model# of your router?) Can your desktop connect to the Internet without the router, but with the DSL? Is your desktop set up to talk to the router (Can you see the router with your PC, either with the supplied router CD or via the web interface?) Is your PC set up to automatic IP address? Is the DSL box connected to the WAN port of the router? Do you need to use, forinstance, WinPoet to dial internet? Did you have to give your MAC address of your PC to the Customer Service Rep to activate the DSL box? Still, you should be able to ask Yahoo! for tech support regarding this. They'll probably ask you the same questions. This is a free comment. |

You can only enter the router setup via wired lan connection (http://192.168.0.1). In the Netgear router setup you will find an option that ask you if you need to log on to your ISP. You need to select "yes" and then enter your log in name and password. Don't forget to hit the "apply" button. At this point you should be connected to the internet. The wireless setup is a different issue and the problem connecting to the router is usually due to security settings that don't match. Good luck. |
