Here are the lyrics to "Sent For Your Yesterday" as sung by Jimmy
Rushing with Count Basie's Orchestra on a seminal Decca recording in
1938:

"Don't the moon look lonesome shining through the trees,
Don't the moon look lonesome shining through the trees,
Don't your house look lonesome when your baby packs up to leave.

"Sent for you yesterday and here you come today,
Sent for you yesterday and here you come today,
You can't love me baby and treat me that away."

The song was written by Rushing, with Eddie Durham. In
Rushing/Basie's hands, the tune was mainly a vehicle for driving
instrumental solos by Herschel Evans (tenor sax), Earl Warren (alto
sax), Buck Clayton (trumpet)and Harry ("Sweets") Edison (trumpet).
Rushing's classic vocal appears about halfway through the recording.

The recording is available in an indispensable Decca box set of 3 CDs
entitled "Count Basie -- Complete Decca Recordings." Here is the
ordering page from Amazon.com:

I have a recording of a 1938 Rushing/Basie rendition of the song,
which I would be happy to listen to and see if it is a simple matter
to transcribe the lyrics. Since the song is a twelve-bar blues that
consists largely of the phrases "sent for you yesterday, and here you
come today," it probably is. But I won't be able to get to it before
late this afternoon (EDT), so I will leave the question open for any
other researcher who might be able to help you in the meantime.
