i am doing a memorial design and want to incorporate figures
representing the army navy and airforce i know the air force is an
eagle / bird can you help on the navy and army. the memorial is for
the british armed forces who have died in acts of terror the
decoration will be etched into glass repeatedly

You can find the symbols, or ensigns, of the British Armed Forces on
their respective websites.

The symbol is a white flag with a red cross. The British flag is in
the upper left-hand corner of the white flag.

That is useful but I am trying to dig deeper into why those symbols
are the way they are and how they evolved we want to make abstract
reference to the colour and form of the symbols in an art piece.
Can you go a little further?
