Question ID: 404288
I purchased this unit and cannot get it to work properly. I have
installed it according to the directions on the Honeywell site and it
doesnt seem to work right. I have called the 1-800 number and they
told me they couldnt help because this model was a "contractor" model.
So here's the deal. I have a single stage heat pump furnace system
with A/c. The wires coming though the wall are red, blue, white,
orange, green, yellow. there is a jumper connection on the base plate
between "R" and "RC" - how do I hook this unit up? what wires go where
on the base plate? Thanks!

Thanks for the quick response - I have tried that - those instructions
came witht the thing. But when I wire it up that way - it doesnt work
correctly.

Of I look a the wires on the furnace - the blue wire is connected to a
terminal marked "c" - yet on the thermostat base - there is no "C"
connection. downstairs the orange wire isnt used. the rest are obvious
(w to white, red to r, green to G and yellow to y) So I need to know
what terminal on the thermostat base to connect the blue wire to -
again, if I connect it to the :b: terminal - the whole thing shuts off
so that is clearly wrong....

I purchased one of these new from E-Bay and it was defective. I got
the runaround when I called the 800 number in India. I spoke to a
supervisor and he said that there was nothing that Honeywell could do
because it was a contractor model.

After making several calls, I found someone that did have the
authority to exchange it:

Honeywell Inc.
Attn: Paul Arntzen
1985 Douglas Drive
MN 10-1461
Golden Valley, MN. 55422

Paul was actaully very nice about it. Do a search and find
Honeywell's number and talk to him if your unit is defective.
