Problem with recent MS SP2 upgrade? (XP Home) My computer has locked
up after this enormous download! It switches off now every time it
loads up. It will not allow access to Safe mode or boot from last
sucessful setting. HELP??

SP2 is known to cause some compatibility issues. The MOST important
thing to do before installing SP2 is to ensure you have no spyware,
malware, adware, or viruses present on your computer. You may try to
do a clean install of XP, and then apply SP2 to it. If you are still
having problems you can also try contacting Microsoft's technical
support.

Also read this document before applying sp2.

if u have already applied sp2 then go back to prior to sp2 and then
apply whatever applicable to your computer as stated by this doc. and
then install sp2.
