I have a HP t230a computer which includes directions for installing an
internal FDD BUT has no BIOS provision to run one. Current BIOS and
Date;
Pheonix Technologies, Ltd   Version 3.04,  5/25/2003.
Is there an upgrade for this BIOS and how do I access it?

The latest BIOS for your system is 3.09 and can be downloaded from HP web site:

This BIOS will fix your FDD, as you can see here the list of fixes in 3.09:

I strongly urge you to read all the instructions before you proceed
with the BIOS update.  You should always proceed cautiosly when
updating a computer BIOS.  If there is any problem during the BIOS
update, your computer could become unstable if not completely dead. 
READ THE INSTRUCTIONS THOROUGHLY!
