It depends on a number of factors including whether you have
additional medical information and if so whether they have to get info
or you provide it, whether the law judge feels the need to have you
see another doctor (then how long it takes to get an appointment,
whether you show up the first time it's scheduled, how long it takes
the doctor to prepare his report), how booked up the judge is, how
overworked the clerks are, whether the judge feels he can review the
paper file and make a favorable decision without a hearing.....

No one will be able to give you an exact figure of how long it will
take to get a hearing scheduled. And once you have a hearing, no one
will be able to tell you exactly how long it will be between the
hearing and the law judge's decision.

The Office of Management & Budget and the Social Security
Administration have published a report for Fiscal Year 2005 that
estimates the average disability claim processing time at 1,146 days
(that's 3+ years) from start to finish. During that time, SSA
employees actually work on your case for 7 days. You can read the
report here: http://www.whitehouse.gov/omb/budget/fy2004/ssa.html.

In my law practice in Atlanta, Georgia, I generally see a one to two
year wait from the time I request a hearing to the time one is
scheduled.

Hope this helps.
