I have a question regarding the usage of nanny cameras at one's own home, to monitor nannies while away at work (or elsewhere). I am looking to hire a live-in nanny for my child, and have been thinking about installing multiple cameras (in different areas of the home), to monitor the care provided to my child while I am away. I have looked at quite a few sites that sell these nanny cameras and am looking for specific/consolidated answer based on someone's personal experience/knowledge regarding these different options available (rather than directing me to different sites). Here it goes: - First and foremost is it legal to use these cameras without the consent/knowledge of the nanny. I guess the answer would be state dependent and I am looking for an answer specfic to Illinois. - What is the best type/recommendation of wireless camera(s) avaialble that would provide a good resolution (model details etc.). Does a color camera give you better images over black & white cameras? What is the distance it can capture images at? Any maintenance etc. issues that someone has personally experienced/known about the above model(s)? What is the best deal in terms of cost/value ratio for these different model(s)? - How do I consolidate all these multiple cameras/images into one desktop monitor. I want the ability to log on to this desktop from anywhere and be able to view these images from work. I want the details of how I can set this process up. Also is viewing over the internet an option? Lastly I want to store/save these images (from all the cameras) on the desktop (and have the ability to delete them when I want). How can I enable this on the desktop? This is very important (store/save and retrieve/delete later feature). A quick response is greatly appreciated!! |
