The first and most direct part is this: Is the World Wide Association of Specialty Programs and Schools the largest Utah-based corporate contributor to the Republican Party? I read this allegation on www.heal-online.org and was very interested to know a) how would they learn such a thing? b) where I could confirm the veracity of that statement? and c) is there any way a private citizen such as myself can research legal and political issues without violating the law? I'm assuming some of this must be a matter of public record, but where? I don't wish to violate any laws, but I've read many disturbing things about WWASP online and I want to know how I can find out the truth about this organization's political activities without becoming the target of a lawsuit. I don't believe I can find any truth in testimonies from for profit organizations with a vested interest in the outcome, or from activist groups going off information they have found in one or two publications. I want to know where I can look for court documents and financial records before I persue any activism of my own. Basically, I want to know the answer to my first question and how to answer further questions of the same nature. |
