I'm unable to access my website from MS Explorer. Strangly enough I'm also unable to access the website of the firm hosting my website. Meanwhile, I have no problem accessing any other sites on the Web. I have check with my DSL service provider to see if there was anything wrong on their side. They couldn't find any thing wrong. My website hosting company checked on their side, and are telling me they don't see any thing wrong on their end... Could there be something in my MS Explorer'son the server hosting my website rejecting my computer's MAC (IP) address? My ISPIs there something om my computer that is preenting me to access this specific site | |

I am having the same exact problem, I have contacted both my ISP (road runner) and my web hosting provider (frogee.com) road runner said its not a problem with them, frogee said the same.Everyone else that I know can access my website (http://sorclan.com) This is the third day I can not view my site. When I ping my site with the Command Prompt I get: Pinging sorclan.com [server IP...] with 32 bytes of data: Request Timed Out. Request Timed Out. Request Timed Out. Request Timed Out. Ping statistics for "server IP address": Packets: Sent = 4, Received = 0, Lost = 4 (100% loss), I get the same exact response for www.frogee.com I am using Windows XP I am using Cable and its Road Runner, I live in La Jolla California. Thanks in advance, Giovanni Andretti |

In the properties for the network card connected to the cable modem, make sure that ONLY Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) (and QOS Packet Scheduler, it it's in there) is checked, & NOT Client for MS networks or File and printer sharing for ms network. This may be an issue where your machine thinks that it is joining your ISP's domain when it connects. Also, look in winnt/system32/driver/etc/hosts and verify that you do not have an entry like frogee.com 192.168.0.1 if you do, delete it. Also, not being able to ping your website does not necessarily indicate a problem, as a server could refuse a ping, & still serve a page. I think that you may clarify your issue by running a port scan on your machine, from outside, & see what ports are open. I'd suggest dslreports.com. IF port 80 (HTTP) is not open, then maybe your provider is blocking it. To verify whether the page is being served rpoperly from your machine, open IE & connect to http://127.0.0.1. If the web server is working properly, this should likely load your site. Best of Luck, Wiz |
