I'm looking for information about Hong Kong's court system. Specifically, I'd like to know things like; what High Court is like, what the judges wear, what the barristers/lawyers/solicitors wear, how the court is addressed, if there are any major differences between US courts and there, is there perceived corruption. I need to know what it would feel like to be in court there-sights, sounds, etc... I've read that sometimes it's very colorful because hip triad criminals and glamorous movie stars are often indicted. Is it a media circus? |

The legal system in HK is very similar to that in the UK - just have a look to see what the system is like in the UK. Standard wear for Barristers = Uk Barristers, Solicitors = suits. Court sessions are in English and preceived corruption is very low. It is one of the better legal jurisdictions in Asia, the other being Singapore. Court is conducted in a rather professional manner - no Matlock type walking around for barristers etc etc. |
