To promote our website launch, we're going to be renting a few
vehicles and driving around here in Los Angeles. We need to affix
something to the cars that includes some text, our URL, etc. However,
because the cars will be rentals we need to be very careful NOT to
affix something that we can't easily remove. I have a few ideas but
wanted to see if anyone here could speak to this and what might work
best. Here were my ideas:

-There are magnet-type things which can be put into an inkjet printer
and printed on. These would be nice because we could do the designs
ourselves and these would be easily removable. A concern here is
size. We need something big and easily readable by other motorists.
I'm not sure if this would suffice.

-Some sort of stickers/decals. Not sure if we could do these
ourselves and also am worried that we wouldn't be able to remove them
easily.

-The "wrap" stuff you see now on some cars (advertising products). I
think this is permanent however. So that might be a problem.

Those were a few thoughts we had. We want to keep the budget
relatively low (under $100 or so to affix 3 or 4 signs to 2 or 3
vehicles).

If you have any ideas, please let me know. If we ultimately end up
going with your suggestion, I'll consider it to be a satisfactory
answer.

Thanks,

I'd probablyh opt for magnetic car signs like these:
http://www.i-magnetics.com/

The Google Directory has quite a few suppliers listed:
http://directory.google.com/Top/Business/Business_Services/Signage/Magnetic/

However, it won't work on a Saturn (plastic door panels)!

jpbischke-ga:

Most smaller sign shops (the places that make custom vinyl signs and
posters) should be able to make you static-cling signs for the windows
of the rental vehicles. With static-cling vinyl or polyester signs,
you can easily apply and remove the signs multiple times without
damaging either the sign or the vehicle.

Thanks to both of you for your comments. The magnetic car signs such
as those that are offered at i-magnetics are probably the way we'll
go. If you would like to post that as an official answer I will
accept. That looks to be a simple and cost-effective solution for us.
 Thanks again!
