Tutuzdad, as a person who has spent many years in law enforcement, you
are sure to have seen many television and movie portrayals of police
officers and their work.

I am curious: of all the entertainments involving police,
which do you regard as the most accurate version of the realities of
the job? Or, if you don't find any TV or movie depiction to be
particularly accurate, which TV show or movie do you find most
absurdly inaccurate in this regard?

There is no answer at this time.

As far as I know 'COPS' is by far the most accurate in its depiction
of law enforcement. As for crime dramas, well to be honest, I've
"never" watched them - any of them. Oddly enough they don't appeal to
me and I couldn't tell you the name of a single character on any crime
drama playing these days. I don't imagine Wolfgang Puck goes home and
watches much Iron Chef either.

Please post "Cops" as your answer. Of course, you have the right to
remain silent, but I'd rather that you 'fess up and get what's comin'
to you. ;-)

I didn't get this old by falling for every pretty face, ya know. Thank
you for the generous offer but I think I'd like to talk to my lawyer
first.
