Hello.
Rerun's dance style is called "locking and popping" or
"Campbellocking" or sometimes just "locking."
See:
HipHopNetwork.com: "Locking and Popping (Electric Boogie)"
"...By the Early '70s Don Campbell had put together a whole crew of
lockers called "The Lockers." One of the lockers was Shabadoo, the
star of "Breaking," and Penguin, who was the chubby locker named
"Rerun" on the TV show "What's Happening." The lockers of the early
'70s wore platform shoes, loud striped socks, pegged pants that
stopped at the knees, bright colorful satin shirts with big collars,
big colorful bow ties, gigantic Apple Boy hats, and white gloves."

"Berry was a real life member of The Campbelllock Dancers, named after
Don Campbell, who is recognized as the creator of the dance Rerun
helped popularize, Locking.
The style of dance was incorporated into 80's dance and locking and
"pop locking" became immensely popular."

" Fred "Rerun" Berry (a.k.a. "the Penguin") brought popping and
locking into America's living rooms as a cast member of TV's What's
Happening (see top photo, left). The clips of Berry dancing last night
were pure joy."

'Though he occasionally danced on "What's Happening," mainstream
audiences best knew Berry as a portly comic foil. But in dancing
circles he's fondly remembered for helping pioneer the "locking" and
"hip-hop dance" moves currently emulated by Michael Jackson, Janet
Jackson, Justin Timberlake, Britney Spears, Backstreet Boys and
others...
...As urban dance historian Thomas Guzman-Sanchez notes in his 1996
film documentary Underground Dance Masters: History Of A Forgotten
Era, Berry helped popularize locking through his appearances on
"What's Happening."'

"That's where he met Fred (Rerun) Berry, then an overweight kid
wearing a '40s-style zoot suit, complete with double-breasted vest and
gold chain. "I snuck away front an all-night prayer meeting and went
to Maverick's," says Berry, now a Baptist minister in Alabama. "That's
where all the hot dancers hung out. I saw this guy doing this crazy
dance. In Locking, everything is overdone. You don't just point, you
twirl your wrist and then point; you don't just look, you pop your
neck and look. When You walk, you dip and walk. Everything came off
the lock when you lock your joints, your upper body and knee. It was
still but also very fluid."
